Engineering Manager required by a global leader in engineering. Bring your expertise to this role and contribute to the success of major mineral processing projects.

Opportunity

The Engineering Manager will work on a suite of projects providing know-how on engineering and design matters. Reporting to the Engineering Director, he will lead the activities of Area and Discipline Engineers through planning, resourcing and scheduling as well as providing technical expertise, integrating the disciplines and resolving issues.

Engineering Manager Role

• Be a leader of safety, raise safety awareness and ensure ?safety in design' principles are applied to projects.
• Ensure the scope of work is developed and an effective change management system is in place.
• Develop the engineering budget and schedule to meet the scope and execution plan for the project.
• Lead the development of design management plans together with the regional and project leadership teams (including procurement, controls, construction, commissioning) and allocate roles & responsibilities.
• Provide input to project reports with respect to design progress, cost and other relevant issues.
• Engage with the relevant company's teams regionally and globally to involve specialist expertise from their global resources.
• Regularly review and appraise the structure of the engineering team in terms of its ability to meet short and long term objectives, and initiate appropriate changes.

Engineering Manager Experience and Skill Set Requirements

• French and English language skills are essential.
• A recognized degree in Engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years experience in either a consulting or project team environment.
• Minimum of 3 years in a leadership role responsible for the management of engineering personnel, distribution of work, overseeing the interaction between engineering disciplines and preparing estimates of engineering effort and deliverables.
• Extensive work experience in engineering or plant operation in large industrial plants, utilities, process plants or engineering | construction firms.
• Demonstrated team management skills from within a multi-national consulting engineering environment.
• Knowledge of progress assessment and measurement and engineering control strategies.
• Familiarity with 2D drafting systems i.e. Microstation or AutoCAD.
• A high degree of understanding of procurement and contracting, construction and commissioning methodologies.
• Experience in the application of design systems that support a 3D data-centric design environment.
