Opportunity

Our client requires experienced Drilling Supervisors for their operations in West Africa.

Drilling Supervisor Role

• The primary purpose of this role is to ensure that exploratory drilling operations are carried out in a safe and efficient manner whilst maximizing production delivery targets.
• Supervising and/or operating multi-purpose drilling, rotary core and diamond drilling operations.
• Supervising all employees involved in drilling operations.
• Producing risk assessments and safe working procedures.
• Ensuring that safe systems of work are fully implemented.
• Undertaking safety inspections of the drilling work sites.
• Training, coaching and mentoring Trainee Drillers and members of the local workforce.
  

Drilling Supervisor Experience and Skill Set Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years relevant drilling experience.
• Supervisory management experience.
• Experience of delivering grade control and exploratory drilling operations in remote locations.
• Extensive experience in working overseas, particularly in remote self contained locations.
• Experience living in a multicultural and diverse environment.
• The ability to work alongside and train our locally employed workforce.
• People management skills and the ability to work in a supervisory role.
• Strong commitment to the implementation of safe working practices.
• Experience in working with safety management systems.
• Experience with Atlas L8, Diamec, EDS 900, Mustang, JKS 1000, UDR 650, UDR 1000 types of Drill Rigs would is highly preferred.
• The ability to speak French would be an advantage, but is not essential.
